Meet Melissa

After having completed my teaching degree at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada, I decided to make the daunting but exciting move to London in October 2013. Like many other Canadian teachers, I wanted to explore new places and gain the valuable teaching experience I would not have the opportunity to gain in Ontario where teaching jobs are few. Protocol Education gave me the unbelievable opportunity to combine my two passions: teaching and travelling.

I decided to begin my teaching career in London as a day-to-day supply teacher because I wanted to get to know the British education system. Daily supply work became the perfect fit for me as it gave me valuable teaching experience and the freedom to travel and indulge in the diverse culture that the UK and European countries have to offer.

My life-changing experience with Protocol Education naturally led me to want to remain with the company as my time in London was coming to an end. I was absolutely thrilled to find out that I would be the new International Recruitment Consultant for Canadian teachers. After two years of teaching in the UK, I am confident that I am prepared to take on this role and I am so excited to be able to share my experiences with my fellow Canadian teachers and help them with this amazing, life-changing move.

I wouldn’t change a thing about the past two years. I have become a stronger teacher, seen some of the most amazing places in the world, met so many incredible people and I have become the independent individual I have set out to be. So if you are ready to make one of the best decisions of your life, I truly look forward to helping you in your journey from Canada to the UK to work with Protocol Education, who will support you every step of the way.
