Registration, References and Police Checks

At Protocol Education we take quality very seriously. Our reputation in the UK is that we provide schools with candidates who have been very thoroughly checked and cleared. After you have completed the registration form you will be contacted in regards to references and police checks. Complete the registration form.

We ask you to complete/provide:

  • Registration form (why not fill it in once you finished reading this?)
  • Application form (where we get all your details and your agree to our policies)
  • Recent references (covering the last 2 years)
  • Canadian or USA federal police check (including a vulnerable sectors clearance where applicable)
  • An Interview in Canada (face-to-face, phone or Skype)
  • A UK Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) - this is to be done in Canada, prior to leaving for the UK

Why do I have to complete a UK DBS check?

Rules are rules, and while you may never have set foot in the UK the chances are UK schools will not even look at you if you haven't processed a DBS check. Protocol Education can help you with this process before you even leave Canada!

If an agency tells you it is likely you can teach in the UK without one they are not being completely honest with you. Everyone working in a school should be up front about child protection.
